Theme
Connecting the Caribbean through Beekeeping.
Objectives
- Facilitate discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing the Caribbean beekeeping community.
- Identify appropriate strategies for advancing the sector.
- Foster interaction and regional camaraderie amongst stakeholders, in a learning environment.

Dr. Christopher Starr. Trinidad & Tobago. Professor of Entomology (retired), University of the West Indies. Specialist in nesting biology and ecology of social insects, with main attention to wasps and bees.
Mr. Clive de Bruyn. United Kingdom. Former Scientific Officer, National Bee Unit; former county beekeeping Instructor, Writtle Agricultural College; Committee Member, Board of the National Diploma; Examiner for both the British Beekeepers Association and the National Diploma examinations.
Prof. David de Jong. Brazil. Professor of genetics and entomology, University of Sao Paulo (specialist in pathology, biology and management of Africanised honey bees); technical Editor of on line scientific journal ‘Genetics and Molecular Research.
Dr. Nicola Bradbear. United Kingdom. Former lecturer in Apiculture at Cardiff University; co-founder, Bees for Development; Editor, Bees for Development Journal; President Apimondia Scientific Commission on Beekeeping for Rural Development.
