CATCH THE BUZZ – Michigan Beekeepers Association Spring Conference

For Immediate Release: February 24, 2021

The Michigan Beekeepers Association Spring Conference, Wednesday, March 3rd– Saturday, March 6th, 2021, is an event not to be missed! Brought to you by the Michigan Beekeepers’ Association and Michigan State University (MSU) Extension, this online conference will feature over 40 speakers and 30 vendors.

Join us the evenings of Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to hear Roger Hoopingarner, Tammy Horn Potter, and others make beekeeping history come alive with presentations on A. J. Cook, Lorenzo Langstroth, and Eva Crane. Ana Heck and the rest of the crew for MSU Extension share resources to support bees and your beekeeping business, and Adam Ingrao talks about the wildly popular Heroes to Hives program for military veterans. Chef Jim Ford whips up some honey-themed dishes from his professional kitchen. Juliana Rangel Posada traces the ecology of Africanized honey bees. Sam Ramsey jumps in the ring with “Vespa mandarinia: The Battle Begins”.

Saturday will feature 4 tracks, with something for everyone: nucs, splits, queen-rearing, indoor overwintering, arts, community, photography, porches, pianos, tech, tips, tricks and tools for the bee yard, (mechanical) drones following bee drones and yoga for beekeepers. With Samuel Ramsey, Meghan Milbrath, Peggy Garnes, Dorothey Morgen, Les Eccles, Zachary Huang, Larry Connor, Paul Kelly, and many, many more local and international presenters!

The Michigan Beekeepers Association celebrates 156 years of serving Michigan beekeepers, while supporting local beekeeping clubs across Michigan. Beeks and geeks are welcome to attend our virtual conference. Register for the Michigan Beekeepers Association Conference today!
