If you missed out on Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day and can’t wait until July’s National Ice Cream Day to cash in on some sweet ice cream deals, you’re in luck: Häagen-Dazs is celebrating its own Free Cone Day this week.
From 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, walk into any Häagen-Dazs scoop shop to claim one free scoop of ice cream or sorbet. You can choose from sweet flavors like Caramel Cone, Espresso Chocolate Cookie Crumble, and White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, or fruity sorbets like Mango and Lemon. Despite the day’s name, there’s some wiggle room with how you get your dessert — it’s available in a cup, sugar cone, or cake cone.
This year’s Free Cone Day also celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Häagen-Dazs’ Loves Honey Bees campaign, a cause that celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Scarlett Johansson have lent their voices to. Honey bees are disappearing at an alarming rate, which is problematic for a number of reasons, including the fact that a third of Häagen-Dazs’ flavors are bee-dependent.
