RE:  Nomination of Experts for the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA)

        Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP)

        Federal Register 83-FR 49091

Dear Dr. Marquea D. King,

I would like to nominate Dr. Jeff Pettis to serve in the position of scientific expert for ad hoc participation on the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP).

Dr. Pettis accomplishments and credentials speak for themselves. I am attaching his resume for your review.  His research into honey bee behavior, physiology, pathology and host-parasite relationships make him an excellent source of information for the impact Insecticides, Fungicides and Rodenticides are having on honey bees.  As you know, the Environmental Protection Agency considers honey bees to be a sentinel species.  Dr. Pettis knowledge of this sentinel species make him the perfect candidate for this position and his insights would provide a rare opportunity to analyze and assess risk in the environment and determine a course of action that is good for honey bees and in turn, great for our environment and our food production systems.

Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration of this nominee.

Sincerely,

Your Name and address and Your beekeeping association name, address and contact here
