Phillip Rossman 1947 – 2014

Born January 20, 1947 in Moultrie, Phil was the son of the late Joseph Gray Rossman and Angeline Ellise Cowman Rossman. He graduated from Moultrie High School in 1964 and Auburn University in 1969. He was the retired vice-president of Rossman Apiaries.

During his career he served as president of the Georgia Beekeepers Association, the Southern States Beekeepers Association and the American Beekeepers Federation. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he sang in the choir and worked as a youth leader. During his high school years, he was a “D.J.” with WMGA Radio in Moultrie. He was a volunteer at the Moultrie Y.M.C.A. and a director of the Georgia Farm Bureau.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Burke Rossman. Survivors include his wife, Krystal Kaye Russell Rossman, one daughter, Amy R. Ducote, one step-son, Russell Taylor and and two step-daughters, Tonya Lenee Barbulescu and Michelle Elizabeth Taylor. He has one brother, Fred Rossman and wife Ann of Moultrie who now lead Rossman Apiaries; two sisters, Elizabeth Lamble and Nell Hamrick, five grandchildren, his mother-in-law, Lelia “Lee” Russell of Moultrie; and two sisters-in-law, and a brother-in-law.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM today with a memorial service Friday at 10:00 AM at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Moultrie.
