CATCH THE BUZZ – Missouri Virtual Meeting March 13th

VIRTUAL SPRING CONFERENCE
MARCH 13, 2021

Missouri State Beekeepers (MSBA) will hold their Virtual Spring Conference on Saturday, March 13, 2021 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and concluding at 3:30 p.m. Deadline to register for the conference is Monday, March 8, 2021. This webinar is free to all paid members of MSBA. Non-members can become a member and register for this webinar by paying a $10 annual membership fee and going to this link at  https://mostatebeekeepers.org/become-an-msba-member-today/ Members will receive an email with the Zoom link to the webinar a couple days prior to March 13.

Guest Speakers


Kim Flottum was Bee Culture Magazine Editor for 33-plus years. He started a second magazine Beekeeping Your First Three Years about six years ago. He’s written five books, ranging in topics from beginner to advanced. Kim’s presentations include Make Your Bees Pay Their Way and Honey House Fundamentals.

Tina Sebestyen is founder of the Four Corners Beekeepers Association, vice-president of the Colorado State Beekeepers Association, and is currently working to produce the Colorado Master Beekeeping Program. She writes for the American Bee Journal and Bee Culture magazines, along with some bee journals from abroad. Tina’s presentations include All About the Queen and Fat Winter Bees.

Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Walsh began beekeeping in high school while working part-time for a nation-wide beekeeping supply store. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Ripon College. In 2019, she completed her Ph.D. at Texas A&M University while working in Dr. Juliana Rangel’s laboratory. Her studies focused on the effects of miticide exposure on honey bee queen health. Dr. Walsh is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Agriculture and Agri-Food, Canada, where she works in Dr. Steve Pernal’s laboratory in Beaverlodge, Alberta. Dr. Liz’s presentations include Integrated Pest Management: History, Myths, and Practices and Honey Queen Bee Health and Their Rearing Environment.
