CATCH THE BUZZ – Learn Beekeeping from the Experts’ Experts

An Up Close and Personal Weekend in an Historic Southern California Retreat

Beekeeping Basics Workshop, The Highland Springs Resort, Cherry Valley, California

limited to 25 guests

Saturday February 27 and Sunday February 28, 2016

The Highland Springs Resort is located in Cherry Valley, California, in Riverside County just west of Palm Springs. Modern amenities have retained the historical flavor of what was once a stage coach stop. Its 2400 organically-maintained acres include hiking trails and large lavender beds that provide an ideal home for bees.

This is a rare opportunity for 25 participants to spend a hands-on weekend with beekeeping experts:

Dr. Elina Niño, UC Davis Extension Apiarist

Bernardo Niño, UC Davis Honey Bee Research Associate

Megan Mahoney, member of the national Bee Informed Partnership Tech Team

Other speakers include Mark Brandenburg, an agronomist speaking on forage planting. The group will taste honey in a new way and learn what an inexpensive hive scale can reveal.

Two nights, Friday and Saturday, meals and conference fees range from $249-$412 per person, depending on choice of room. Meals include Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch. Off-site conference fee is $100. For more information, see www.hsresort.com, go to Bee Conference.
